Here’s everything you need to know to tune into the snowboarding men’s big air finals at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Big air is a new event at the Winter Olympics as of 2018. This event sees men and women flying high into the air off a 160-foot ramp to showcase their best shot at one huge trick.

Unlike halfpipe, which has been part of the Olympics Games since the late ’90s, big air made its debut on Wednesday night where the qualifying round saw top names unable to land some of their best tricks. Gold medal hopeful Marcus Kleveland from Norway was one of the athletes who was expected to move on to the finals, but unfortunately for Kleveland he was unable to land his second trick.

The United States team saw three of its members moving on to the finals on Friday night Kyle Mack, Chris Corning, and slopestyle gold medalist Red Gerard.

Snowboarding big air has been a fan favorite at the Winter X-Games since it was first introduced in 2011. In this year’s X-Games, none of the Americans were on the podium. They will be looking to change that and top X-Games gold medalist Max Parrot from Canada.

With this being the first year for the big air event in the Winter Olympics, the stakes will be high and the athletes will be bringing their very best tricks.
