Brighton are coming off a 3-1 FA Cup win over Coventry and a 1-1 draw away to Stoke in their last league match. The Seagulls have been playing well lately, having picked up five points in their last three games with a win and two draws.
The newly-promoted side are currently 14th in the league table but are only two points from safety due to the jam-packed relegation scrap currently going on in the league. A loss to Swansea and results elsewhere going against them could see them drop into the relegation zone.
Swansea have dramatically escaped the relegation zone under new manager Carlos Carvalhal, who managed a draw against his former club Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup last week. In the league, however, Carvalhal has led Swansea to their best form in the season as they haven’t lost in their last five league games, picking up 11 points thanks to wins over Liverpool, Arsenal, and Burnley. All three are top seven teams.
Carvalhal’s Swans have earned draws in away matches against lower level sides, with two draws away to Leicester and Newcastle coming during his reign.
Jordan Ayew and Sam Clucas are two players who have been in inspired form under Carvalhal and they will be looking to continue that trend against the Seagulls.
Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk will be looking to slow down the two of them alongside their goalie Mathew Ryan who is on the hunt for his eighth clean sheet of the season.
