With the 16th week of the college basketball season in the books, here’s what the AP Top 25 rankings might look like for Week 17.

The college basketball regular season is heading into its final week but for some teams, conference tournaments are beginning this weekend. Where did the season go? It seems like the regular season has flown by, but we are getting to the best part of the year: March.

The NCAA Tournament is right around the corner and teams are still vying for No. 1 seeds with essentially all four up for grabs. There isn’t a single lock in college basketball for a top seed, other than maybe Virginia which seems to be unbeatable right now, outside of a loss to Virginia Tech a couple of weeks ago at home.

Other teams such as Michigan State, Duke, Villanova, Kansas, Xavier and Purdue could also be in the running. Heck, you can’t even count out Gonzaga just yet as the Bulldogs were ranked No. 6 in last week’s poll and look to move up even more in Week 17. They don’t have the strength of schedule, but they’ve been a No. 1 seed before.

There are plenty of teams looking to earn No. 2 and No. 3 seeds such as Cincinnati, Texas Tech, North Carolina, Auburn, Arizona and Clemson. Teams like Ohio State and Michigan, albeit in a weaker Big Ten this season, have looked worthy of top-four seeds.

With just a week of regular season left and another week of conference tournaments, there is still plenty to play for.

Here’s what the AP Top 25 should like for Week 17.
