James Bond news and notes: February 26
By David Pegram
As we move closer to potential (probable?) Bond 25 announcements in the next few weeks, Eye on Bond will step up its roundup of Bond news. Instead of the weekly news roundups, we’ll provide updates when and as they happen. Today, we have news on a world-renowned Bond girl, a possible new Bond girl, and new names added to the list of potential 007 actors for Bond 26 and beyond.
Jane Seymour poses for Playboy at age 67
Yes, the former Bond girl, Solitaire from Live and Let Die, appears in a new spread for Playboy. Suffice to say, Ms. Seymour looks fantastic and every bit as glamorous as she did in her 1973 and 1987 pictorials. Of the photo shoot, Seymour said:
"I feel much sexier now than I ever did when I was younger. Then, I was like, ‘Oh gosh, I’m supposed to be sexy. What is that?! There’s an enormous freedom in having lived as long as I have. Like my father used to say, I’m comfortable in my own skin."
Emily Ratajkowski, Bond girl?

Winter is Coming
Well, add this one the rumor mill: the Express is suggesting that model and actress Emily Ratajkowski could be in line for a part in Bond 25. At first this may seem far-fetched, but Ms. Ratajkowski did have an interesting turn in David Fincher’s Gone Girl, in 2014.
Murphy or Boyega?
Who will replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond? Two new names have surfaced in the British press: Cillian Murphy and John Boyega. Murphy, star of Peaky Blinders, worked with Christopher Nolan on two Batman films (and Nolan is a potential choice to reboot Bond). Boyega, meanwhile, has cut his teeth on the last two Star Wars films. Such “odds” news is common when it comes to Bond, but either actor would be an interesting choice.
Random Notes:
- Daniel Craig will turn the big 5-0 later this week. More news on this when the big day arrives.
- Bond news sites and fans are still chattering about the possibility of a Danny Boyle-directed Bond 25. We’ll have more on this development later this week.
- Goldfinger will be screening in London, several days in the month of March, at the BFI Southbank. Tickets can be purchased on the BFI site.
As always, thank you for reading. Please check back for more James Bond news and updates.
