Dan Fegan, a longtime NBA agent, was killed in a car accident Sunday (Feb. 25.) Fegan was driving an SUV when it was struck by a bus on Highway 82, according to the Aspen Times.
"The Colorado State Patrol said the SUV Fegan was driving was trying to cross or merge onto Highway 82 when it was broadsided by the RFTA bus.Two other passengers in the SUV, a 29-year-old woman from California and Fegan’s 5-year-old son, were airlifted to a hospital in Denver with serious injuries, according to Colorado State Trooper Gabe Easton. The name of the woman has not been released. Updates on their condition were not available Sunday night. There was one passenger on the Glenwood Springs-bound bus, Easton said. Although they were “shaken up,” the bus driver and passenger were not injured, RFTA CEO Dan Blankenship said."
Fegan made his mark by representing NBA stars such DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, John Wall and Ricky Rubio. In 2016, he was named by Forbes magazine as one of the very best agents in the entire country. Considering his enormous expertise and lengthy experience, the NBA perhaps lost one of the better agents for the future.

While of course the nice words won’t bring him Fegan back, it’s great that the NBA was fortunate enough to have Fegan contribute over the years.
