Round 7, Pick 232

Jack Cichy, LB, Wisconsin

This is another flyer on a guy who probably won’t last this long come spring. Cichy could have snuck into Day 2 if he’d stayed healthy in 2017, but a torn ACL robbed him of a chance to catapult himself into the conversation.

From the second half of 2015 into 2016, there are few linebackers who were more versatile or effective than Cichy, capped off by his virtuoso performance in the Holiday Bowl when he recorded three straight sacks.

He’s available here because he has a checked injury past, but he could be the type of versatile linebacker Mike Pettine would play inside, outside, and everywhere. Plus, he’d be happy busting his tail to play special teams while he gets his shot.

Round 7, Pick 239

Arrion Springs, CB, Oregon

Three-year major college starters with a 6-foot-0, 205-pound body don’t just grow on trees. Springs may not be the fastest corner, but he’s big and was productive at Oregon, breaking up 12 or more passes each of the last two seasons including 18 in 2017.

Springs’ tackling could use work, a factor mostly borne out of poor effort and for a player who gets his hands on as many passes as he does, you’d like to see him pick off more balls. That said, this late in the draft, to get an experienced corner with his physical tools and productivity is a win.
