We all know that March Madness is about mid-majors, but who could emerge from the 2018 Northeast Conference Tournament into the Big Dance?

March Madness is known for many things, but one thing that all fans can agree upon is the greatness of cinderella teams. Seeing a mid-major program upset the top dogs of college basketball is always a great time. Even more fun is predicting which teams will be the ones to do it. And whoever emerges from the 2018 Northeast Conference Tournament could be a candidate.

Sitting as the top seed entering the tournament is the Wagner Seahawks. After posting a 14-4 record in the conference, they finished the regular season with a two-game cushion atop the rest of their foes. However, they also hold the distinction of being the only team in the conference to have won more than 20 games overall in the regular season.

Having said that, there are other quality teams that could knock off Wagner in the Northeast Conference Tournament. The St. Francis (PA) Red Flash and Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers both finished the campaign with 12-6 records in the conference. Moreover, both ended the regular season with records above .500. That marks them as the only three teams in the league to do so.

Let’s take a look at the 2018 Northeast Conference Tournament bracket (for a printable version, simply click on the linked image below):

As you can see, the tournament will tip off with all four first-round games on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Then, there will be a hiatus until the weekend when the teams will re-seed based on who wins and play on Saturday, March 3.
