The NHL Trade deadline has come and gone. What grade did your favorite team receive for its moves (or lack thereof)?

Every year, the NHL trade deadline is one of the most exciting days of the year for hockey fans. Whether your team is selling off assets or buying for the playoff push, it is an important day in the course of the season. We’ve graded every team on their moves, even if it didn’t make a trade. Because sometimes no trade is the best trade.

Anaheim Ducks: C+

The Ducks did most of their work well before the trade deadline. They made one minor trade, acquiring Jason Chimera from the New York Islanders for Chris Wagner. It was surprising not to see the Ducks do more considering they hold the last playoff spot in the Pacific by one point. Many teams in the division got better at the deadline, and the Ducks stood still on trades. They did add Team Canada’s captain Chris Kelly to the team via free agency on a one-year deal.

Anaheim would’ve liked to add to their bottom two lines. Chimera is not the same player he was when he was with Washington. He has lost his offensive touch, and the game is starting to pass him by. Adding a depth winger with scoring ability to play on the fourth line would have been a terrific addition to this team as it looks to make another playoff push.

There are only so many seasons left for the core of this team with Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler. It is odd that general manager Bob Murray would sit by and watch the rest of his division get better. This is still a very talented Ducks team with a lot of talent on the top two lines, a solid group on defense and two strong goalies. Anything can happen in the playoffs; the Ducks just need to make it there. Murray’s lack of movement on the market gives the Ducks a C+ grade this year.
