Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is willing to play in the NFL for free, as the 25-year-old attempts an NFL comeback.
The polarizing Manziel took to Twitter earlier today to share with the world how badly the Texas A&M great wanted to get back into football.
I’ll play again for FREE. It’s not about the money it’s about getting back to doing what I miss and love.

All this came after Manziel appeared on his former Browns teammate Joe Thomas’ podcast, showing some signs of maturity and accepting blame for his past mistakes while a member of the Browns.

Now, the question is does anyone really want to bring in a potential headache like Manziel to their locker room? Sure, he’s may have grown up some, but we’re still talking about a guy who’s only won two games as a starter in the NFL. He showed some promise in 2015 season, finishing with 1,500 passing yards, 240 rushing yards, with seven touchdowns through the air. However, he still showed how raw he was, being sacked 19 times with 11 total turnovers.
Manziel, at most, is a backup, and he’s not even one of the better ones. On top of that, he hasn’t taken a snap in over two seasons. What team wants to take a chance on a backup quarterback with a slew of off-the-field issues, including things like drugs and gambling. But, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, teams are in contact with Manziel.

Garafolo also added that Manziel would even consider signing onto a practice squad team, in hopes of repairing his personal and professional image. But if Manziel is truly willing to stay on a team’s practice squad for a full season just to get a chance in the future, it would make sense teams would then be interested.
As the NFL combine starts to ramp up, Manziel is trying to show teams his value, and if he has truly learned from his past may be the former Aggie star can finally live up to his massive potential.
