Former Ohio State center, Billy Price, appeared to have injured himself during his bench press workout. The full injury details are unknown.

In a scary moment at the NFL’s Scouting Combine Thursday, former Ohio State center, Billy Price, appeared to have injured himself while participating in the bench press workout. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Price left the stage in pain holding his left pectoral after only four reps.

He is undergoing further medical evaluation at this time and the official diagnosis/recovery is still unknown.

Price, who played both center and guard at Ohio State, is listed as the No. 2 center in the 2018 draft by ESPN. His measurements at the combine were 6-foot-4 and 6/8″, 305 pounds, and 32-inch arm Over at NFL.com, the draft profile on Price is projected him to be a second-round pick.

During his days at Columbus, Price was a two-time All-American for the Buckeyes, starting in a school record 55 games. In 2017, he was named Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that a player has been hurt during the draft process. Last year, UCLA Cornerback Fabian Moreau suffered a torn pectoral during the bench press at UCLA’s 2017 Pro Day. Moreau’s injury required surgery but did not hurt his draft stock or availability for the start of training camp.

The Redskins selected Moreau in the third round and he was a full participant at the start of camp in July. The youngster appeared in all 16 games for Washington his rookie year, and after the trade of Kendall Fuller, he could see increased playing time this year.

Hopefully Price’s injury is no worse than Moreau’s and whatever the official diagnosis, he’s ready for training camp this summer.
