March Madness 2018 is almost here and this magical month kicks off with Selection Sunday. But first things first: When is Selection Sunday 2018?

For many college hoops fans, March Madness is the most wonderful time of the year. The road to the Final Four starts the first day of practice, true, but the tickets to the Big Dance get punched at the Selection Show.

The 2018 Selection Show takes place on March 11, 2018, at 6 p.m. ET. It will be televised live on TBS. This is when the field of 68 teams is announced after they have been sorted by the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee and placed into the four regions.

The First Four will play in Dayton March 13-14, and then the winner of those games will filter into their respective brackets for the First and Second Round games March 15 – 18. Then come the Regional games featuring the Round of 32 and the Elite 8 March 22 – 25.

The last four teams standing will face off in San Antonio at the Final Four on March 31, with the National Championship game on April 2.

The Selection Show is the critical first step for March Madness fans because this is when we start making our brackets. Fans have from the night of March 11 to Game 1 of the First Four to put their brackets together. Brackets are one of the most personal things a college basketball fan can have. There are strategies that go into brackets, from overall and conference records to RPI and team mascots facing off, anything goes when filling out the ultimate bracket. The truth is that a huge number of brackets are busted by the end of the First Round so as long as you’re having fun, that’s the main thing. Right?
