93. . G. SMU. Shake Milton. 24. player

I’ve selected an actual player in this slot every week since these mock drafts began, and while I believe Milton could be a great fit next to Ben Simmons as a shooter and versatile defender, I believe Philadelphia should trade this pick.

Not only do they have a roster full of talented players, including a young core of Simmons, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric and Markelle Fultz that ideally each play over 30 minutes per night, they also have role players who need developmental minutes. Richaun Holmes and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot would be top-flight prospects on several teams. Finally, Philadelphia has two overseas stashes, Anzejs Pasecniks and Jonah Bolden, who could come over soon and add even more depth.

They need those players — the veterans on this squad won’t be around forever, and if the Sixers use their cap space this summer, the team could expensive in a hurry. Young depth is never a bad thing. But with so many youngsters and another lottery pick, the Lakers’, headed their way in 2018, they should trade this first-round pick for a talented veteran on draft night if the right deal emerges. They don’t need another guy to make room for at the bottom of their roster.
