Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson will be one of the most coveted wide receivers in NFL free agency. Here are the five best teams for him.

2018 is not an elite free agency class by any means in the NFL. However, the wide receiver group has several great players that can surely help out NFL offenses. One of the most peculiar free agent wide receivers has to be Allen Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Robinson was a former second round pick by the Jaguars out of Penn State in the 2014 NFL Draft. His best season as a professional came in 2015 when Robinson made it to the Pro Bowl with 80 catches for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. However, his starting quarterback Blake Bortles struggled in 2016, as the Jaguars went 3-13.

While the Jaguars had tremendous on-field success as a team last year making it to the AFC Championship Game, Robinson tore his ACL in Week 1 versus the division rival Houston Texans. Robinson was slated to make a huge pay day in 2018, but could have lost himself a good bit of money due to his injury.

Regardless, Robinson is a top-10 receiver in the league when healthy. He made Christian Hackenberg look good in college that one year in Penn State. Robinson remains Bortles’ best receiving target should he return to the Jaguars on a second contract. Given that he will surely make more than $3,510,870 on the open market, here are the five best landing spots for the coveted Jacksonville receiver.

NFC. South. Carolina Panthers. 5. player. 87.

While the Carolina Panthers have made the NFC playoffs four of the last five years, they find themselves in an interesting spot heading into 2018. There are so many changes going on within the organization. Founder and former owner Jerry Richardson is selling the team. The Panthers have lost defensive coordinators the last two years to head coaching gigs. Carolina fired former offensive coordinator Mike Shula and quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey this offseason.

Sure, the Panthers still have Cam Newton at quarterback and Luke Kuechly at linebacker, but this could be a complete different football animal in Charlotte next year. Carolina may have gotten in as a wild card team in 2017, but will need to crush it this offseason to stay in the NFC playoff picture. Getting Newton an excellent receiving target in Robinson could be in play.

Robinson is so skilled as a receiver that he makes inaccurate quarterbacks look like All-Americans and Pro Bowlers when he’s catching the football. Truth be told, Newton is a significantly better quarterback that Bortles and Hackenberg, but he’s never been the most accurate of passers. Everything coming out of Newton’s howitzer of a right arm sails on him. Robinson might be the perfect target for the guy.

Carolina has some space to work with this offseason, as the Panthers have $27,268,287 in cap flexibility. That’s near the middle of the pack in the NFL at 17th. However, there are two reasons Carolina is only a good, but not great fit for him. The first being that Carolina could see its championship window close before the end of Robinson’s contract with the team. The second has to be the antiquated nature of the Norv Turner offense Carolina is now going to run. If Turner can make Newton Troy Aikman and Robinson Michael Irvin two decades later, more power to him.
