From the diehard to the casual fans of college basketball, everyone is watching when March rolls around. March Madness gets the country of basketball fans together like no other event in any sport. It’s truly a magical time where cinderellas come out to spoil everyone’s brackets and the contenders try to prove they can win it all. Expect nothing different in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Throughout the 2017-18 regular season, the parity throughout college basketball has been overwhelmingly evident. Very few teams have established themselves as dominant squads throughout the season. And some of those who have still warrant some doubt about them. That all sets up for a wild run in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, meaning there could be plenty of big upsets.
To be frank, most people are going to watch whether that’s the case or not. However, that only ups the ante in terms of excitement around March Madness and the tournament. Thus, most fans won’t want to miss any of the action. So then, when does everything get started?
The bracket for the 2018 NCAA Tournament will be set on Selection Sunday, March 11. That’s when we’ll find out which 68 teams are competing for a title and what seeds those teams ultimately earned. Then the actual action begins.
Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14 will be the days that the First Four action will take place from Dayton, OH. That’s where the last four teams to earn at-large bids will square off to try and stay alive in the Big Dance.
After that, the 2018 NCAA Tournament will then kick into full gear. 16 games will be played in the first round on Thursday, March 15 starting around Noon ET, with the other 16 first round games taking place on Friday, March 16.
