Unai Emery’s time at PSG appears to be up after his side lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16. Here are five potential replacements.
PSG have failed once again to reach the semifinals of the Champions League. Their defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday looks like it will cost Unai Emery his job. Les Parisiens have spent over a billion dollars trying to reach their ultimate goal of winning the Champions League, but for the fifth time in a row, they’ve failed to even make it to the last four.
PSG have added the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Juilian Draxler to their roster of stars in recent years, and yet still find themselves struggling to match the likes of Real, Barcelona and Manchester City. Winning Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France isn’t enough for the club’s ambitious owners.
That means, in all likelihood, it’s time for a new manager, but who should they turn to? These are five targets PSG could appoint to lead them to European glory.

5. Arsene Wenger
Wenger’s tenure at Arsenal looks to be coming to an end. The 68-year-old signed a two-year contract at the end of last season, which would keep him at the club through 2018-19. However, with the Gunners’ recent poor results and growing fan discontent, it looks like his days may be numbered.
PSG have been admirers of Wenger for many years, even trying to convince him to take over the side before current manager Emery was appointed. With Wenger’s attacking style and impressive resume, he’ll be high on PSG’s shortlist if they decide to sack Emery.
Wenger’s record speaks for itself. The Frenchman led Arsenal to three Premie League titles from 1997 to 2004, including an unbeaten season in 2003-04, and even over the past few seasons, for which he’s been widely criticized, he won three FA Cups.
However, Wenger seems intent on seeing out his contract at Arsenal. He believes he’s the right man for the job, and can bring the glory days back to north London. Convincing him to leave the club he’s led for over 20 years won’t be easy, but he’d be an intriguing hire.
