Dolphins need to cut Ndamukong Suh and rebuild defense

It’s time for the Dolphins to say adios to Ndamukong Suh and start fresh on defense.
It looks like defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and the Miami Dolphins are heading for a divorce, and the Dolphins front office shouldn’t get cold feet at the courthouse.
Why would Miami want to get rid of one of the most talented defensive tackles in the NFL? Well, when you’re stuck in mediocrity like the Dolphins are, then the new question should be why would they want to keep him?
At one point, Suh was the most feared defensive lineman in the league, and certainly earned his huge contract with the Dolphins. While Miami may have thought they were signing a defensive lineman that would anchor their front four for the foreseeable future, what they got was essentially a watered down version of the Suh who once struck fear in the eyes of opposing quarterbacks with the Lions
According to ESPN’s Dianna Rusini, the Dolphins have moved closer to moving on from their former high-priced free agent prize.
While no decision has been made, sources say the Miami Dolphins are discussing cutting Ndamukong Suh.

Yea, he showed flashes of his greatness in South Beach, but the product on the field wasn’t matching the dollar signs on his checks, and, to add insult to injury, the team surrounding him wasn’t much better. In the three seasons, Suh has been in South Florida, the Dolphins has been to the playoffs just once, and has compiled a 22-26 record during that time span.
With the team not getting better, and still faced with having to pay Suh a huge sum of money, it is only natural that the Dolphins front office should think about cutting their once-prized DL loose and starting fresh on the defense as well as offense.
Really, what does Miami have to lose?

They aren’t a threat to challenge the upper echelon of the AFC anytime soon, and as long as they have square pegs in round holes, they’re never going to be no better than a Wild Card team.
So the Dolphins should do the right thing and give Suh his walking papers. Divorce is hard, but it’s for the best, for both parties.
