Jalen Hurts lost his bet to Charles Barkley over the outcome of the Iron Bowl but he had the last laugh after paying up to the Round Mound of Rebound.
Charles Barkley has never been afraid to make a bet. The notorious gambler has won and lost plenty of his NBA fortune throughout the years, but he’s probably never been on this side of a bet before. Barkley both won and lost this bet he made with Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Barkley and Hurts had a wager over the winner of the Iron Bowl. The Tigers got the better of the Crimson Tide, the lone loss of the year for Alabama. Auburn played the best game of the year that day against Alabama while the Tide played their worst game in several years.
Hurts lost the bet so he had to wear an Auburn jersey, and the rising junior quarterback was a man of his word. Hurts put on the Auburn jersey, which had to be painful for Alabama fans. Have no fear, their pain was quickly replaced by pure joy when Hurts pulled the ultimate move.
With the Auburn jersey on, Hurts strapped on his backpack which carried the College Football Playoff National Championship Game trophy as he walked away.

Auburn may have won the Iron Bowl, but they lost the SEC Championship Game to Georgia and then was embarrassed by UCF in the Peach Bowl. Meanwhile, Alabama dominated Clemson in the Sugar Bowl to avenge last year’s title game loss and proceeded to beat Georgia in overtime to win it all.
