Terrelle Pryor once showed a lot of promise at wide receiver, and some team is hoping to tap into that this offseason.

There was a point in his career where Terrelle Pryor looked like he could be something. After bouncing from Oakland to Cleveland, he was a rare bright spot for a Browns franchise that has been a trash heap since 1999.

Of course, the Browns jettisoned him and Pryor toiled away in Washington. He’s a talented receiver who has flown under the radar and some team out there — a smart team — will sign him at a bargain and get one of the best deals of the offseason.

Best fits

1. Cleveland Browns

Why not have a reunion here? Pryor had his best seasons while in Cleveland and would immediately become the best quarterback on the roster. Being able to use Pryor creatively on offense could be something that helps the Browns not be so stale in 2018, and gives them a playmaker on a side of the ball that was stagnant all last year. Check all egos at the door on this one, the idea the Browns are reverting back a year to make sure they improve in next year is actually a step in the right direction.

2. Buffalo Bills

Out of nowhere, the Bills made the playoffs last year for the first time since 1999. It was wild, it was stunning, but there’s work that needs to be done if it’s going to happen again. Getting to the playoffs isn’t enough for Buffalo, and improving the offense is going to be the difference between being a team that can control a lead and one that has no shot of coming back from a deficit. Pryor fitting next to Kelvin Benjamin is something that could work, giving Tyrod Taylor (or whoever) a nice top duo.

3. Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton gets a lot of flak for how the Panthers offense is run, but he’s never had a top receiver to throw to. Carolina is allergic to receivers, it seems, which makes getting Pryor even more crucial. He’s not a top receiver in the game, but there’s no saying Newton can’t create a relationship with him can’t develop both to a higher level. To say Newton hasn’t ever had a top receiver is the same as saying Pryor’s never had a good quarterback — so how about they link up?
