Browns trade for Tyrod Taylor from Bills
Only an hour after trading for Jarvis Landry, the Cleveland Browns kept a busy day going by acquiring Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills.
The Cleveland Browns are not messing around under new general manager John Dorsey. After trading for Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry on Friday afternoon, the Browns did another deal with an AFC East team, getting quarterback Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills.
The return is the 65th-overall selection in the 2018 draft, giving Buffalo an early third-round choice. Buffalo might very well be trying to gain ammunition to use for a first-round trade, considering the Bills already have the 21st and 22nd-overall selections.
Cleveland has only one a single game over the last two seasons, but Dorsey is out to change the culture. Taylor helped to lead the Bills to the playoffs for the first time since 1999, and now he takes his talents to the other side of Lake Erie.
In his three years with the Bills, Taylor threw for 3,000 yards on two occasions while totaling 51 touchdowns against 16 interceptions. It’s not hard to imagine Taylor continuing to blossom with Landry and Josh Gordon on either side of him. In Buffalo, Taylor had LeSean McCoy but not much else at the wide receiver and tight ends spots.

In fact, the Bills had the fewest receiving yards between those two position groups of any NFL team in 2017.
Buffalo had apparently soured on Taylor over the course of last season, at one point benching him for rookie Nathan Peterman. The experiment was short-lived, with Taylor only sitting for one half as Peterman launched five first-half interceptions against the Los Angeles Chargers.
