The Cleveland Browns are making moves left and right, while the Green Bay Packers got involved to land quarterback DeShone Kizer.

If you were out and about on Friday, boy did you miss one hell of an NFL afternoon. The Cleveland Browns have been making trades like a car dealership going out of business, acquiring Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills and Jarvis Landry from the Miami Dolphins.

Then, general manager John Dorsey made a third swap, sending DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers for cornerback Damarious Randall.

The moves makes sense for both teams. The Packers are getting a young backup quarterback to sit behind Aaron Rodgers, and one that should be an upgrade over Brett Hundley. Hundley was atrocious a year ago for the Packers, scuttling their playoff chances. While Kizer threw 11 touchdowns and 22 interceptions, he was also given little chance with Hue Jackson’s meddling ways and one of the worst teams in history surrounding him.

As for the Browns, they had no use for Kizer the second Taylor was coming to town. The Browns are going to likely draft with a quarterback with one of their first-round picks, so the move was inevitable. Cleveland also needs help in the secondary, and Randall represents a high-upside kid who was drafted in the first round back in 2015.

Green Bay is in the process of completely remaking a secondary that outside of Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, has been in desperate need of such an overhaul. Morgan Burnett is also expected to walk in free agency.
