What day and hour will you have to turn your clocks forward by an hour for Daylight Savings 2018?
Daylight Savings 2018 is nearly upon us. Yup, it’s that time of the year when you lose an hour of sleep. That time of the year when you panic because you realize it’s an hour earlier than it should be. Let’s get you prepared so you’re not late to work on Monday or church on Sunday.
In 2018, Daylight Savings begins on Sunday, March 11. Technically, it starts at 2:00 a.m. ET. Be sure to set your clocks forward before you go to sleep so you don’t panic when you wake up. Yes, you lose an hour of sleep. But you get over it quickly! And losing sleep is far better than being late for work or church.
So how did Daylight Savings get started? It was designed to allow workers to wake up an hour earlier and get out of their job an hour earlier. Why do this? So workers could enjoy an extra hour of daylight. But what about winter? Well, this is why you set your clocks back an hour in the fall.
There are two states in America that don’t follow daylight savings time. Those states are Arizona and Hawaii. Indiana used to not follow it, but in 2006, decided to officially start following it. There are other states that perhaps shouldn’t follow it because it serves virtually no purpose.
One of those states is Florida, where it’s pretty nice year-round. Also, the variation in length of sunlight from summer to winter varies less in the Sunshine State than in other states.

If you want to get started earlier on preparing for fall, you turn your clocks back an hour on Nov. 4. So be sure to mark that day on your calendar so you can look forward to getting an extra hour of sleep!
