The Boston Bruins look to take their current win streak to six games against a struggling but ever-so-dangerous Blackhawks team in the first of two games this weekend.

The Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks will square off twice this weekend, for a home-and-home double header. The Blackhawks may be out of the playoff race, but they are still packed with talent and can’t be taken lightly.

Saturday’s game will mark their first meeting of the season between the two teams. Here is everything you need to tune in to both games on Saturday and Sunday:

The Bruins (92 points) are red-hot and currently taking a five-game winning streak with them into Chicago. They are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and coming off a big win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday evening. The Bruins would love another two points in this game to keep pace with the league-leading Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic Division.

The Bruins will be without forward David Backes, who will be serving the second game of his three-game suspension for an interference call against Detroit Red Wings forward Frans Nielsen on Tuesday. Charlie McAvoy and Patrice Bergeron remain on the mend.

It’s strange to see the Chicago Blackhawks (66 points) outside of the playoff picture, let alone at the bottom of their division. They are a perennial powerhouse team that seemed to be in the mix every year. Perhaps fatigue is finally setting in, because this is clearly a down year for this franchise.

The Blackhawks have lost three of their last five games and are 5-5-0 in their last 10. It’s safe to say they are no longer a wild card contender, as they are all but mathematically eliminated from the playoff race.

They will look to take on the role of “spoiler” for the rest of the season. No matter where they are in the standings, the Blackhawks are a tough game for any team.

It’s worth noting that Brad Marchand is coming into this game having scored game-winning goals in the last three Bruins contests. Look for him to try to continue this personal streak on Saturday.
