While everyone was focused on Selection Sunday for the NCAA tournament, Tiger Woods was just dialing his golf game back 10 or 15 years.

Selection Sunday is the main thing sports fans are honed in on as March Madness officially ramps up in the college basketball world, but Tiger Woods wants to let you know that he’s not going anywhere in the golf world.

Everyone had to turn their clocks an hour forward for Daylight Saving Time, but Woods decided to turn things back a few years instead, giving everyone a reason to tune into a golf tournament before the Masters get going next month. He crushed it all weekend at the Valspar Championship, but all eyes were looking to see if he could keep it up in his Sunday red polo.

Woods did just that, captivating the audience with a 44-foot putt on the 17th hole on the tournament’s last day. That putt was good for a birdie, pulling him within one entering the 18th hole.

The putt put Woods right on Paul Casey’s heels entering the final hole, with the possibility of a playoff if Woods could make another clutch birdie to finish out his round. While it just wasn’t in the cards, and Woods fell just one shot short, golf fans around the world didn’t care. Their man was back.

Woods’ putt shows just how interesting he makes the game of golf, and the hype is still there for the legend after all of this time. It’s been a struggle over the last few years for Woods to get back into the form everyone is used to seeing him in, but it looks like it has finally happened.

Sure, he didn’t win the tournament. But this is a big moral victory for Woods, and for all of us watching at home, too. With just one month until the golf world turns its attention to Augusta, everyone can officially circle April 5 on their calendars and begin counting down the days in excitement.
