With WWE Fastlane now in the books, here’s the info you need on the next WWE pay-per-view event.
With WWE Fastlane now in the books, the road to WrestleMania 34 is all clear and New Orleans is the next stop on the WWE pay-per-view schedule.
While there’s still the matter of NXT TakeOver two nights before WrestleMania, we’re focusing on the main roster today, which obviously means that we’re looking at the biggest show of the year, the show of shows, the grandest stage of them all, the ultimate spectacle or whichever other name you may want to throw at it.
WrestleMania 34 will take place on Sunday, April 8 from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT on the WWE Network, and will likely include a two-hour kickoff show. Here’s the confirmed matches we know so far.
- WWE Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns
- WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
- Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H
- Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins
- WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: TBD vs. TBD – tournament to crown new champ is still ongoing
- SmackDown Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Asuka
There will obviously be a few more matches added to the card, including the RAW Women’s Championship. With Asuka making her decision at Fastlane, that likely leaves Alexa Bliss to take on Nia Jax.
No official tag title matches are set for WrestleMania as of yet, but a Triple Threat with The New Day, The Usos and The Bludgeon Brothers seems to be in play after Harper and Rowan destroyed the other two teams at Fastlane. As for RAW Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro, their match isn’t quite as obvious, but a match against The Revival could be entertaining.
There’s also the matter of the United States Championship, which also seems to be headed toward a Triple Threat featuring Bobby Roode, Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal, especially following the events at Fastlane. We also can’t forget about John Cena, who I still think will end up taking on The Undertaker, even if WWE has led us to believe that won’t happen.
While not technically official yet, expect another edition of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, especially with the HBO documentary on the WWE legend set to premiere two days after WrestleMania. A women’s battle royal on the kickoff show wouldn’t surprise me either, but if that happens, I’m not expecting Bayley or Sasha Banks to be involved as I think they’re headed for a grudge match on the main card.
