Allen Robinson rumors: Packers, Bears in mix
The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are reportedly interested in signing wide receiver Allen Robinson, despite his torn ACL from a year ago.
The Jacksonville Jaguars could have given Allen Robinson the franchise tag, but decided against it. Now, Robinson appears to be garnering interest from a pair of NFC North rivals in the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
Robinson, 24, is coming off a year in which he played one game for the jaguars, unfortunately tearing his ACL in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. However, the former Penn State was fantastic in the two years prior. In 2015, Robinson caught 80 passes for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns, putting him in the Pro Bowl. The following year saw Robinson catch 73 passes for 883 yards and six scores.
Chicago makes sense in this market, because it desperately needs a receiver to help Mitchell Trubisky out. Only the Buffalo Bills got less receiving yardage out of their wide receivers and tight ends, so Robinson would quickly become the top option alongside a returning Cam Meredith and Kevin White.

As for the Packers, they need to trim down their receivers corps, with both Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson being overpaid for their production. Green Bay general manger Brian Gutekunst could save enough cap space to fit Robinson in with one of those moves, although both could come in short order.
As for Jacksonville, it would be left with a bare-bones situation at receiver, with Marqise Lee also hitting free agency when the new league years becomes official at 4 p.m. ET on March 14.
