It has already been an offseason of big changes for the Seattle Seahawks. Could another one of their defensive stars be getting ready to leave the club?

It’s amazing what can happen when a team misses the playoffs for the first time in six years. From 2012-16, the Seattle Seahawks reached the NFL postseason each year and won at least one playoff game over that span. There was a Super Bowl win in 2013 and another appearance in the “Big Game” one season later.

This past season, a lot of things went awry when it came to Pete Carroll’s club. While the team finished with a 9-7 record, the ’16 NFC West champions were not only dethroned by the Los Angeles Rams but failed to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

The club will have a new offensive (Brian Schottenheimer) and defensive (Ken Norton Jr.) coordinators. The team recently released cornerback Richard Sherman, who quickly signed with the rival San Francisco 49ers, as well as fellow corners Jeremy Lane and DeShawn Shead. And on Wednesday, defensive end Michael Bennett will officially become a member of the Philadelphia Eagles after the Seahawks agreed to deal the veteran performers to the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Now there’s this, courtesy of CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora:

The Glenn would be left tackle Cordy Glenn, now a member of the Cincinnati Bengals after being acquired in a deal with the Buffalo Bills. The Curry would be Eagles defensive end Vinny Curry, who could be on the move after the Birds following the Bennett deal. And then there’s Earl Thomas. The six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro has had quite the eight-year run in the Pacific Northwest. The 2010 first-round pick has totaled 25 interceptions during his NFL career and been part of six playoff teams.

Will the 28-year-old star and native of Texas wind up with the Dallas Cowboys? There have been whispers for quite some time. And so far, La Canfora’s NFL source is 1-for-1 when it comes to trades.
