The Green Bay Packers have long been known as averse to free agency, but a new day is here, and the team is expressing interest in tight end Jimmy Graham.

After years of eschewing free agency, the Packers appear to be aggressively pursuing help for Aaron Rodgers. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Green Bay is interested in bringing Jimmy Graham into the fold.

Graham, 31, caught 57 passes for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Seattle Seahawks last year, showcasing his ability to be a force in the red zone. While Graham is no longer the All-Pro talent that he cone was with the New Orleans Saints, he remains a top player at the tight end position.

The Packers are trying to bolster an offense that is beginning to show age on the outside. Both Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb could be released sooner rather than later, both creating cap space and allowing for multiple additions to be made.

Green Bay missed the postseason last year, largely because Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone, and Brett Hundley was terrible. General manager Brian Gutekunst has already addressed that issue, trading for DeShone Kizer in the notion that he will be an upgrade over Hundley.

According to multiple reports, Graham will either end up with the Saints or the Packers. Either way, the former University of Miami star will have a Hall of Fame quarterback to play with, provided Drew Brees doesn’t get out of the Big Easy.
