Arizona State takes on Syracuse as both teams fight to stay alive in the NCAA Tournament. Here’s what you need to know to watch the game on TV and online.

The Sun Devils take on the Orange in both teams’ quest to stay alive in the 2018 NCAA Tournament when they meet at the First Four game on March 14. Both teams hold a No. 11 seed in the tournament play-in game and the winner will take on No. 6 TCU on Friday.

Arizona State is 20-11 coming into the First Four game against the 20-13 Syracuse Orange. The Sun Devils have an RPI of 66 and they’re sitting on a .500 record against teams in the top 32, which is better than Syracuse’s .300, and could suggest that Arizona State is better suited to move on in the tournament. ASU is averaging 83.6 points per game and are ranked 35th in field goals with a 46.5%.

Don’t discount the Orange, though. Jim Boeheim’s brand of zone defense could be a challenge for Arizona State, making difficult to adapt on the fly for the youthful Sun Devils. Senior Kodi Justice notes that the Pac-12 games really helped the team prepare for Syracuse: “Being able to go through the entire Pac-12, most teams zoned us, so we’re kind of ready for zones.”

Syracuse leads Arizona State with 74% made free throws and and average of 38 rebounds per game. In a game that is fairly even matched, every extra point is going to make a difference to keep dancing.
