There might not be a larger human on a football field than Vita Vea. The 347-pound defensive tackle was put on this earth to swallow up rushing lanes and make life a nightmare for the offensive line.
He does his job well and that has made him a hot commodity for the 2018 NFL Draft. Over his career at Washington, Vea made a living of not only filling up space but chasing players all over the field with deceptive quickness for his size.
Itās very rare when a player can seemingly move an entire line by themselves, but Vea is that large and commands every amount of attention from the interior of a line. Heās also extremely aggressive as well and is going to try and bully his way into the backfield.
So long as he doesnāt lose his head completely and focuses on his technique instead of his raw talent, Vea is going to be an exceptional defensive tackle for many years and a mainstay in the middle of a defensive line.
As expected, Vea had a monstrous day on the bench press at the combine. He put up 41 reps and showed that he is as strong as they come. A team in need of fixing their run defense should start right here.
