Make no mistake about it, Maurice Hurst is a first-round talent when it comes to playing along the defensive line. However, it’s going to be his health that ultimately determines where he ends up getting drafted.

He was diagnosed with an abnormal EKG and that’s something teams are going to weigh when they decide where they’re going to put him on the board. The defensive lineman is confident that it won’t be an issue and he’s ready to play for wherever he ends up.

Should everything check out, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be a top talent. In a disappointing season for Michigan, where they lost to their big rivals and their bowl game, Hurst was a standout on the field.

He was a monster among men and consistently won his one-on-one battles in the trenches. At the next level, it will be interesting to see whether or not coaches end up playing him at the five-tech or the three.

Hurst plays with intensity and has great quickness to get off of blocks and into the backfield. He’s a future anchor of a defensive line and hopefully, his health will be in order as he prepares for the NFL Draft.
