Has there been a more hyped up guard this millennium than Quenton Nelson? If NFL Drafts were just based on taking the best overall player, Nelson very likely is that guy when it comes to the 2018 NFL Draft.

He’s physical, a bully and doesn’t play with any remorse. He’s also a leader and a player that can be plugged in right away and be expected to deliver top results. He isn’t a tackle, but his talent is so special that he’s going to be one of the highest drafted guards ever.

There’s nothing quite like watching him knock over a defender and then continue to bury them into the ground. He’s polished and plays with such discipline that he doesn’t end up making careless mistakes either.

He’s going to obviously face much better talent at the next level and will have to adjust to faster opponents, but Nelson’s built with the right mindset to succeed in the pros. With the way people talk about the Notre Dame product, he has perennial All-Pro written all over him.

Nelson made sure to kick off the combine in style as well, by putting up an impressive 35 reps on the bench press. It’s hard for a team picking high to take a guard when they likely have far more pressing needs, but he’s worth it.
