25. player. 93. . G. Wichita State. Landry Shamet

Shamet enters March with a high seed and the potential to show out en route to a deep tournament run.

Wichita State has an easier path to the Sweet 16 than most, though their first-round matchup will challenge them. Marshall, coached by Dan D’Antoni, will turn the Round of 64 into a marathon, pushing the Shockers to score like their No. 7 offense says they can. The burden to do so will fall onto Shamet, the team’s scoring and assist leader, whose efficiency is a massive reason Wichita State was so successful this season.

Interestingly, Shamet is fourth among rotation players in usage for the Shockers, which is supported by his low turnover rate and high assist rate. He isn’t a big scorer unless he needs to be, such as an early-season game against SMU in which he scored 20, or a conference tournament victory over Temple in which Shamet scored 24.

The junior’s efficient, team-focused style would fit beautifully next to Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
