Georgia State takes on Cincinnati in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Here’s what you need to know to watch the game on TV and online.
No. 2 Cincinnati is heavily favored coming into their First Round game against No. 15 Georgia State. The Bearcats (30-4) are a 14-point favorite over Georgia State (24-10). Head coach Mick Cronin is focused on getting the win no matter who the opponent is: “Whatever seed they are doesn’t matter to me. I’m going to make sure it doesn’t matter to our team. Friday is our last game if we don’t win.”
Cincinnati is well-versed in playing against top 32 teams season, notching a 4-3 record. The Panthers have yet to face a top 32 team this season, which puts them at a great disadvantage coming into this game against the Cincinnati powerhouse. ESPN’s Jay Bilas thinks this Bearcats team is so good they’re going to make it all the way through to the Elite Eight.
The Panthers come into the First Round at a distinct disadvantage behind the Bearcats, not only in stats but in sheer size. Georgia State only has one player over 6-foot-5, which will present a challenge.
Coming out of the AAC tournament, the Bearcats were shooting under 44 percent in their three tournament games and they only hit 70 points in one of those games. If the Panthers can control the ball and take advantage of the charity stripe, they just might have a chance in this game.
