Watch Loyola vs. Tennessee NCAA Tournament: TV channel, live stream, start time
By Ian Levy
Loyola (IL) takes on Tennessee in the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Here’s what you need to know to watch the game on TV and online.
Loyola Chicago would have been the upset darling of the first round if not for UMBC’s heroics against Virginia. Donte Ingram hit a shot at the buzzer to knock off No. 6-seeded Miami in a moment that will live on long after this Tournament is over. It was the school’s first Tournament win since 1985.
Loyola finished first in the tough Missouri Valley Conference, and pulled out a terrific non-conference win by beating Florida in early December. At that point, Florida was ranked No. 5 in the country. Loyola is fairly balanced between offense and defense, and has the 40th-best adjusted efficiency margin in Division I. They have a versatile offensive attack, shooting 39.5 percent on 3-pointers as a team, with five different players averaging double-digit scoring.
Tennessee has quietly rolled all season long. They had the best adjusted efficiency margin in the SEC, according to KenPom.com, and the 13th-best mark in all of Division I. Tennessee’s strength is on the defensive side of the ball — they had the fifth-best defensive efficiency mark in the NCAA this season and allowed just 47 points to No. 14-seeded Wright State in their first round win.

Every year we see a Cinderella advance deep into the Tournament. While UMBC may have been the best story of the first round, Loyola is better prepared to advance into the Sweet 16 and beyond. However, Tennessee is no cupcake and a sleeper Final Four team themselves.
