Eric Musselman and Nevada are off to the Sweet Sixteen, but his daughter Mariah is the real superstar.

Every year, when the Madness of March hits us our brackets like a brick, we all search for some solace. This usually comes in the form of some lucky charm a team has — a fan, a band member, Julia Louis-Dreyfus — and it makes the pain a little easier to handle.

This year, Sister Jean of Loyola is quickly becoming the face of the tournament, but she has competition. As the Nevada WolfPack continue to march towards a miracle title, head coach Eric Musselman has become a star. His profanely high-energy speeches in his locker room have made him a name, but he’s not even the most popular member of his family.

That title goes to his exuberant daughter, Mariah.

Basically, Musselman’s daughter is the best thing ever and the latest March Madness lucky charm.

Through two games, Mariah has been front and center in cheering on her dad’s team. Now the Wolf Pack are set to take on Loyola-Chicago, which puts us in a Sophie’s Choice situation. We’re being forced to choose Musselman’s daughter Mariah or Sister Jean — and that’s not a decision anyone is prepared to make.

Maybe there’s a way for the two teams to defy all the odds and join forces to take down the rest of the bracket. After all, this is the South Region we’re talking about — where a 16-seed won and Arizona got blown out by Buffalo — it would fit right in with the Madness.
