North Carolina got upset, and the internet had zero chill

Prepare yourselves for the Carolina Blue tears (and A&M joy) on Twitter.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way for Roy Williams and his experienced UNC Tar Heels.

After an up-and-down season, the Tar Heels were supposed to turn it on in the NCAA Tournament and put up and strong defense of their National Title. What Carolina fans, both in Chapel Hill and all over the nation, saw on Sunday was a team that simply wasn’t ready for the upstart Texas A&M Aggies.

The boys from College Station really had nothing to lose, as many (including yours truly) didn’t have them advancing past the Blue Bloods-of-the-Blue Bloods. That’s what makes March Madness so special, though, as being the experienced team doesn’t guarantee you a spot to dance in the Sweet 16, heart and determination does.

Simply put, the Aggies had it, and the Tar Heels didn’t.

What also makes March Madness a truly sadistic joyous time of the year is watching fans of the Mt. Rushmore of college hoops cry their eyes out when their teams lost to colleges they see as “beneath them.”  and nowhere is this sight so scenic than on Twitter.

Without further or do let’s witness the Carolina Blue tears of Tar Heel fans, and the joy of all those who wanted them to eat crow.

The Tar Heels seemed dead from the opening tip-off.

Thanks, Houston, for messing up what could have been a classic matchup.

Signed, everyone who still has a bracket left.

Due to the shock of his team not showing up against Texas A&M, Kenny Smith has declined to cover the rest of the NCAA Tournament.

I don’t feel sorry for Virginia. They deserve every joke imaginable.

Why does it have to be “Dook?” What did Coach K do to you?

We had to end this post with the “Carolina Sad Face.” We had to.
