A Tale of Two Cody Martins: One Nevada basketball twin, one Disney hotel twin

If you Google Nevada basketball forward Cody Martin on account of his first weekend March Madness exploits, you will also see a sidebar elucidating that Cody Martin is a fictional character from Disney’s mid-aughts mainstay, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

If you do a Google image search, you will exclusively see photos of a 13-year-old Cole Sprouse, who is now the subject of intense Riverdale fandom. So, despite a 25-point game against Cincinnati that contributed to a 22-point comeback and resulted in a Sweet 16 spot for Nevada, Cody Martin’s SEO needs some work.

Cody Martin, 2018 NCAA Tournament standout, was born September 28, 1995 and has a twin brother named Caleb. He is from Mocksville, North Carolina, which does not sound like a real place. Both he and Caleb are “the athletic one” in the twinship. Both are very good at basketball, both play forward for the Nevada Wolf Pack.

Cody Martin, fictional character, was born in either 1992 or 1993 and has a twin brother named Zack. He is from Seattle and attended Bucker Middle School and then Cheevers High School, which is not a real place. He is not “the athletic one” in the twinship. According to Wikipedia, he is the “more erudite, mature and intelligent” twin as well as the “more sensitive, caring and better behaved” brother, but he is “not perfect.” Again, he is not good at sports, so that’s at least one difference between the two Cody Martins. (He’s also not real.)
