Which NHL mascot would you want with you in a bar fight?

14. Sabretooth (Buffalo Sabres)

The Buffalo Sabres selected a sabre-toothed tiger as their mascot. According to Buffalo Hockey Central, the organization discovered Sabretooth underneath their home ice in 1988. He has changed colors as he got older. He may look like a nice guy, but if you mess with him, you will never for get the name of Sabretooth.

Sports Illustrated described Sabretooth as “not quite cute enough and not quite intimidating enough”. That may be spot on, but he is still a sabre-toothed cat.

Yes, technically Sabretooth should be extinct with the rest of his ancestors. However, can you imagine the pain he could cause with one bite. A bar fight would end very quickly if Sabretooth gets a hold of you.

If you believe Sabretooth would come alone, you are horribly wrong. Sabretooth may look like a knock off of Tony the Tiger, but things wont be great for the opposition in a bar fight. The Sabres’ mascot will rumble in to a bar with a herd of buffalo. They won’t be empty-handed. With sabres in their hands, it will be a long night for anyone who messes with you.
