11. Howler (Arizona Coyotes)

It took nearly a decade, but the Coyotes finally adopted a mascot. Howler the Coyote made his long-awaited debut in 2005. In a fan voting poll, the name Howler won in a landslide. It’s very rare in 2018, but if you listen closely, you can hear Howler howling after every Arizona home victory.

According to National Geographic, coyotes have an unbelievable sense of smell and vision. They can run up to 40 mph. Their bite can cause big damage despite their small frame. Make sure Howler is on your side in a fight. If not, one howl and the rest of the pack will be staring you down.

Howler the Coyote gets a bad rap because of another famous coyote. We all know Wile E. Coyote from Looney Tunes. Wile E. has been trying to capture and eat the Roadrunner for nearly a century. He’s come close a few times, but ran into a brick wall or blew himself up with a contraption he purchased from Acme Company.

The Arizona Coyotes’ mascot wants you to know that he is not related to Wile E. Coyote. They might be the same species, but Howler has been more successful in battles. He will seek and destroy anyone who causes an issue. Why do you think no one goes to Arizona Coyotes’ home games? Howler terrifies everyone in Arizona.
