Which NHL mascot would you want with you in a bar fight?

7. Bailey (Los Angeles Kings)
When we think about Los Angeles, we think of big stars roaming the flashy streets of Hollywood. Other than New York City, if you want to make it big, you want to do it in Los Angeles. The city is full of star athletes. Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw roam the diamond. Magic Johnson is running the Lakers. The National Football League has two teams playing in L.A. How about the ice? It belongs to Bailey.
The roar you hear in L.A. after a Kings’ win is Bailey’s. Bailey was unveiled in 2007, when the Kings revealed they were in the market for a mascot. Los Angeles named Bailey after Garnet “Ace” Bailey, who played in the NHL for 32 years. That’s absolutely unheard of. “Ace” also served as the Kings’ Director of Pro Scouting, according to NHL.com.
Bailey’s roar got noticeably louder over the past five years. The Los Angeles Kings won their first Stanley Cup when they defeated the New Jersey Devils in six games. They followed it up by winning another one after Alec Martinez put one past the Rangers’ Lundqvist in 2014.
Unlike Spartacat in Ottawa, Bailey is more threatening and put together. Bailey’s claws and teeth will easily cut skin. L.A.’s lion, Bailey, is the polar opposite of the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz. There is nothing on earth that scares this lion. He will be right on the front line with you in a bar fight.
