Which NHL mascot would you want with you in a bar fight?

3. Slapshot (Washington Capitals)
An American bald eagle flying around Washington D.C. sounds perfect. The Washington Capitals embraced the D.C. area in 1995 when they named Slapshot their official mascot. We still wonder why the Redskins haven’t, but that’s a discussion for a different day.
The Capitals became a member of the National Hockey League in 1974. They have had some terrific players wear their uniform. The best player who ever laced up his skates for the Capitals is Alexander Ovechkin. The Great Eight just netted his 600th career goal. He is leading his team to the playoffs once again. The only question that remains is will they get the job done?
Ovechkin isn’t the only electrifying man in the arena. Slapshot is an exceptional skater and flyer. For an eagle, Slapshot can absolutely fly on the ice. He bleeds red, white and blue, despite their shortcomings in the postseason. According to BaldEagleInfo.com, the bald eagle became the emblem of the United States of America due to “its long life, great strength, and majestic looks.” There is more to Slapshot than his looks.
Slapshot has a violent wing attack, much like Ash’s Pidgeotto. His speed is second to none. Be careful what you say around Slapshot. He will swoop down and cut you with his talons. A bar will quickly turn into a playground for Slapshot’s prey.
