DraftKings European League Basketball Picks March 20

More from DraftKings

Our week is a packed one in the EuroLeague with a two game week for everyone. We kick it off with a four game Tuesday. A lot of the high end guards are in action today, but not all of them have good matchups. Which ones are worth using? Let’s check it out!

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from!

Guards:

Nick Calathes is one of the few that is capable of putting up more than 40 DraftKings points on any given night. However, he has had troubles with consistency. Calathes has been over 40 five times in the last ten rounds. He has been under 30 in four of those. He is more of a risk than I want today. So is Luka Doncic, who has only played more than 30 minutes three times in his last ten games. His price is too high for that kind of fluctuation.

For me, the top target becomes Kevin Pangos. He doesn’t have near the upside of Calathes, but he has the best matchup against Milan, and his floor is about the same as Calathes for nearly $3,000 less. Pierre Jackson put up 36 DraftKings points against Fenerbahce in the first meeting this year. He is a suitable pivot off of any of theĀ high pricedĀ guys.

Facundo Campazzo has been the most reliable guard for Real Madrid over the last six rounds or so. I prefer him to some of the five figure guys tonight. Campazzo put up 32.25 DraftKings points in the first Battle de Espana this season. For those of you thinking about Brad Wanamaker, teammate Kostas Sloukas is far more consistent and $1,000 cheaper.

Mike James is still a popular pick, and the upside is real. However, he has struggled in two of the four games back in the EuroLeague. Do you want to take that risk? Stay tuned for news regarding Sam Van Rossom. He is supposed to be back this week. If he is, Van Rossom is one of my favorite value picks.

Deandre Kane continues to play at a high level. Kane has 61.5 DraftKings points over the last two rounds. He has a solid matchup today as well. Vasilije Micic has a better matchup, but has been far less consistent of late. Curtis Jerrells has three straight games of double digit points of the bench. That has resulted in 20+ DraftKings points in all of those.

If you need to go really cheap, Andrea Cinciarini has 69 DraftKings points over the last four rounds. He may be a safer pick than Marcus Denmon or Arturas Milaknis.

Forwards:

Gustavo Ayon has played well since his return, but this is a tough matchup for him. I think I would rather drop down to Jan Vesely, who has 34 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Tel Aviv. Chris Singleton and James Gist have another really good matchup this round. Gist was better than Singleton in the first meeting against Belgrade, and comes at a slightly lower price. I’m going Gist over Singleton again, but am not against using both.

Trey Thompkins and Jonah Bolden both performed well in the first meeting against today’s opponent. However, with them both facing top four teams in frontcourt defense, there are better value plays to be had. I would pay up for one of the top tier before taking the chance that they could do it again.

Nicolo Melli has a great matchup, and back to back rounds with more than 20 DraftKings points. The only other one that I would consider in his range is K.C. Rivers, who has been on a tear lately. The matchup with Belgrade is a solid one. If Pappas remains out, Rivers could be in for another big game.

If you have been reading these for a while, you know what a fan of Arsiom Parakhouski I am. However, this is a horrible matchup tonight. I would rather fade him for his opponent, Luigi Datome.

Will Thomas is a solid value pick still. He has only been below 15 DraftKings points once in the last nine rounds. Joan Sastre could be worth a look if you need to go even cheaper, but anyone under Thomas carries a substantial amount of risk.
