The Denver Broncos had arguably the worst trio of quarterbacks in the NFL last season, as they trotted out Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, and Brock Osweiler. This offseason, the organization went out and addressed that position in free agency, signing Case Keenum to a two-year deal. Even though they brought in Keenum, they should still draft a quarterback at No. 5, and Baker Mayfield should be available.
Mayfield is a fiery player, and is definitely the leader this organization needs. While he does not posses great size for an NFL quarterback, he makes up for it with deadly accuracy, and a will to win that cannot be matched in this draft class. Remember, he had to walk-on twice in college, so he knows a bit about challenges.
The Broncos will roll with Keenum next season, as he is coming off a year that saw him lead the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC title game. Still, Mayfield is going to be hard to pass up at No. 5, and he has the talent to win games at the next level. John Elway has been looking for his quarterback for the future, and Mayfield should be available this early in round one.
