Ndamukong Suh, Raiders cancel scheduled visit
The Oakland Raiders had a visit lined up with free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, but the meeting was canceled abruptly.
After visiting with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday, Ndamukong Suh was scheduled to go up the coast to the East Bay for a visit with the Oakland Raiders. However, the two sides called off the meeting, leaving Suh to decide his next venture between the Rams, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans.
Suh, 31, would have made a tremendous difference for the Raiders. Oakland has the 23rd-ranked defense in the league last year, finishing 6-10 and third in the AFC West. The early portion of free agency hasn’t netted much for head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Reggie McKenzie, with the Raiders only adding Tahir Whitehead and Rashaan Melvin to the unit. While both have talent, neither are going to be significant upgrades from their predecessors, NaVorro Bowman and Sean Smith.

After being picked second-overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2010 NFL Draft, Suh played the first five years of his career in Motown. In the spring on 2015, Suh landed with the Miami Dolphins on a six-year deal worth a whopping $118 million, but things haven’t panned out. The former Nebraska star is still looking for his first playoff victory despite being a five-time All-Pro and reaching an equal amount of Pro Bowls.

For his eight-year career, Suh has racked up 51.5 sacks, including 15.5 with the Dolphins. Last year, Suh was rated as the fifth-best defensive tackle in the league by Pro Football Focus, only behind Aaron Donald, Geno Atkins, Fletcher Cox and Kawaan Short.
