DraftKings European League Basketball Picks March 22

More from DraftKings

Our week is a packed one in the EuroLeague with a two game week for everyone. We have the same pool of players as we did on Tuesday, but matchups will determine who we should use here.

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from!

Guards:

Belgrade looked like a bad matchup for Nick Calathes. He responded with a huge 49.75 DraftKIngs point game. That was the third round over 40 DraftKings points in the last four. Today promises to be another against Tel Aviv, who has the second worst guard defense in the league. If you are fading Calathes, both Pierre Jackson and Kevin Pangos have tougher matchups, but both did very well in the first meeting with today’s opponent. Having to choose, I would go with Pangos over Jackson and Taylor Rochestie.

Facundo Campazzo’s price has risen into five figures, but you can’t say it isn’t warranted. Campazzo has back to back rounds of more than 40 DraftKings points. I am off of Campazzo today because of the impeding return of Luka Doncic. Doncic was out Tuesday, but is expected to play today, which is going to cut into Campazzo’s value. I don’t really like either one of them for the price despite the good matchup.

Kostas Sloukas is again one of my favorites outside of the top tier. Sloukas has five straight rounds of 23 or more DraftKings points, and is showing no signs of slowing down. Mike James hasn’t been consistent in his return to the Euro League, but he has a great matchup against Tel Aviv. If yuou are only playing matchups, Erick Green has a great one against Milan, but he has struggled lately.

Sam Van Rossom returned with a solid 21 minutes on Tuesday. It’s time to jump back on Van Rossom as a chalky value pick. You can’t really fade him with his price in this range. Curtis Jerrells gives us another chance to go cheap at guard. He put up 43.5 DraftKings points in the first matchup against Valencia. With four straight rounds of more than 22 DraftKings points, Jerrells is providing great value of late.

If you are looking to go really cheap, Marko Guduric had a game for the ages against Milan on Tuesday. Of course, it was against Milan, but 38.75 DraftKings points is kind of a big deal in the EuroLeague. Rafa Martinez has that matchup against Milan today. There is a good chance that either Martinez or Erick Green goes off today.

Marcus Denmon has displaced Matt Lojeski, so he is a fairly cheap and safe 15 DraftKings points lately. Andrea Cinciarini is as well, though Denmon likely has more upside.

Forwards:

Jan Vesely‘s inconsistency is a problem, but he put up 26 DraftKings points in the first matchup with Belgrade. However, he has only topped that total three times in the last ten rounds. That is a lot of risk attached to a five figure salary. To me, Chris Singleton has far less risk attached and is a few hundred cheaper. James Gist is a good play as well, but I prefer Singleton’s stability if I can afford it.

With Gustavo Ayon out for the next two rounds, look for value out of Anthony Randolph for sure, and maybe Trey Thompkins, though the inconsistency has me avoiding this. Digging deeper, Rudy Fernandez and Fabien Causeur are great values lately, having supplanted Walter Taveras. I prefer Causeur as a sneaky cheap value today. Jeffery Taylor could be as well, since he put up 29.5 DraftKings points in 24 minutes against Valencia.

Jonah Bolden is a solid play once again, but the return of Nikos Pappas could cut in on his action a little since Athens will play three guards with Pappas healthy. It is probably a better decision to slide down to Bojan Dubljevic. Outside of a horrid game against Belgrade, Dubljevic has at least 20 DraftKings points in each of the last five rounds.

Paulius Jankunas and Aaron White are tempting against Real Madrid with Ayon out. White has more upside, with Jankunas being the more stable. Luigi Datome and K.C. Rivers are also strong plays in this tier. Rivers has more upside, but Datome has been pretty consistent lately. That is, if you are looking to move off of a chalky Randolph.

We are finally starting to see some consistency out of Mindaugas Kuzminskas. However, I still like Artsiom Parakhouski in this tier more. I also like the way Will Thomas is playing. I would take Thomas over both of the other right now.

Joan Sastre wont be this price for long. Sastre has 50.75 DraftKings points over the last two games. That makes him a huge value pick right now.
