The NCAA Tournament is rolling along and Friday’s Villanova vs West Virginia game could be one of the more intriguing matchups of the Sweet 16.

Jay Wright has built an impressive program at Villanova and the Wildcats don’t seem to be content with just one national title under their head coach. They’re on track to head to another Final Four and contend for yet another title, surprising absolutely no one with their consistency.

Standing in their way in the Sweet 16 is a scrappy West Virginia squad. The Mountaineers have had an up-and-down season starting from day one — literally. They lost to Texas A&M by double figures to open the year and then went on a big winning streak before coming back down to earth a bit in conference play.

Although the Mountaineers aren’t the favorite to win the region, they have been on a roll lately and the Wildcats will have their hands full.

Jalen Brunson and Jevon Carter will put on quite a show for college basketball fans as each will be trying to will their teams to the Elite Eight.

This could be a high-scoring affair as both teams average over 80 points and defense isn’t exactly a major weakness of either. It’ll be interesting to see which side prevails in this one even though the Wildcats will be considered comfortable favorites. West Virginia won’t go away quietly.

Villanova may be the favorite of the remaining Sweet 16 teams, but that’s a lofty distinction to live up to. Will the Wildcats be able to take care of business or will West Virginia remain hot and pull off the upset?
