Fifth Round

Like with safety, the Broncos should look to double-down at wide receiver in this draft. After taking former All-American wideout Anthony Miller out of Memphis in the back-end of the third-round, look for the Broncos to take Equanimeous St. Brown out of Notre Dame at No. 142. He had been the best wideout at Notre Dame the last two years. This could be a good value pick for the Broncos.

To better help out Josh Rosen in his growth as an NFL passer, it would be advantageous to take one of Rosen’s former college teammates at No. 160 in the form of guard Scott Quessenberry. Overall, this looks to be a deep draft at guard. Perhaps the Broncos can strike gold in the fifth round in the form of Quessenberry? His older brother David Quessenberry has played for the Houston Texans before.

Denver used its first-round pick last year on an offensive tackle in the form of Garett Bolles out of Utah. Bolles was older coming out of college. Perhaps taking Will Richardson out of North Carolina State at No. 163 in the back-end of the fifth round could be in play? North Carolina State has a knack of having NFL quarterbacks. Maybe that is a credit to the offensive line play their in terms of their development?

Sixth Round

Having a safety valve could be key in Rosen’s development or Keenum’s success in Denver. Long gone are the days of Jacob Tamme and Julius Thomas. Taking Notre Dame tight end Durham Smythe at No. 182 in the sixth round might make sense here. Given that he played in a pro-style system in college, Smythe should be able to block coming out of South Bend in a worst case scenario.
