High Salary C
Andre Drummond, DET vs LAL ($9,700): Drummond followed up his 47.5 fantasy point effort against the Rockets with 63.5 fantasy points against the Bulls on Saturday. Blake Griffin’s limited playing time certainly benefitting Drummond’s production in that one. The Lakers are 22nd against centers in their last 15 games. He’s been up-and-down in recent games, but the matchup is good. He’s typically good for at least a double-double, it’s just a matter of how high those points and rebounds will climb. ***
Joel Embiid, PHI vs DEN ($9,400): Embiid has been under 40 fantasy points in three straight contests. Not good for a guy who has needed at least 45 fantasy points to reach value during those games. But it’s tough to produce 40-plus fantasy points in less than 25 minutes. Embiid should see an increase in playing time on Monday as the Nuggets will make things competitive, but if it’s another blowout, the Sixers have made no secret about their desire to spread the wealth up-and-down their roster. ***
Dwight Howard, CHA vs NY ($8,700): Howard is a rebounding machine right now, collecting 20-plus rebounds in each of his last two games. He had 69.5 fantasy points against the Nets and followed that up with 52.75 fantasy points against the Mavericks. The Knicks are 25th against centers in their last 15 games and on a back-to-back. He needs 41 fantasy points to reach value on Monday. He’s been inconsistent, but with nothing to play for, Howard can shine. ****
