John Wall is practicing again, but unsure when he will play
John Wall has returned to the Washington Wizards, but only in practice. Although he is back on a gym floor, it’s not clear when he will put on a game uniform.
Washington Wizards point guard John Wall has been out of action for two months after undergoing surgery on his left knee. In that time span, the Wizards accumulated a 14-11 record, but dropped to sixth in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. On Monday (March 26), Wall participated in his second full-contact practice since the operation. He’s down 10-15 pounds but insists he won’t change his style of play, according to ESPN.
"“I’m just going to be John Wall,” the All-Star said Monday after the second full-contact practice of his comeback from a Jan. 31 operation. “That’s all I know how to do.”"
There is also no exact date on his official return, although head coach Scott Brooks insists that the time is close.
"Washington has lost three consecutive games heading into Tuesday night against the visiting San Antonio Spurs. Coach Scott Brooks said Wall will not play in that game.“It’s getting close,” Brooks said. “He’s had two really, really good days. His energy level is high. He’s anxious. You can tell. He wants to get out there. We still want to be patient.”"

With a potential matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Wizards will want Wall to be as healthy as possible. With much heat going towards Kawhi Leonard for getting healthy, sometimes health outweighs returning quickly. Wall and Bradley Beal have always been tough playoff opponents. The only issue with the tandem is that tough hasn’t equated to wins, although they did take the Boston Celtics to seven games in the second round in 2017. Either way, a healthy Wall could equal more success in the long run than an unhealthy one.
