My DraftKings Fantasy Golf Lineups and Picks

As we always do, we’ll go through various lineups that use different strategies before ultimately getting to my ideal lineup for the week at the 2018 Houston Open. Let’s start with the stars and scrubs.

Stars and Scrubs

Justin Rose ($11,400)
Phil Mickelson ($10,200)
Kelly Kraft ($7,400)
James Hahn ($7,100)
Paul Dunne ($7,100)
Abraham Ancer ($6,800)

This lineup features two of the hottest players in the world this season in Rose and Mickelson and then some steady hands with upside in terms of the “scrubs”. That’s what you look for in this type of strategy, and this could be a strong tournament lineup on DraftKings.

Mid-Tier Loadup

Steve Stricker ($8,800)
Ben An ($8,700)
Emiliano Grillo ($8,500)
Shubhankar Sharma ($8,400)
Brice Garnett ($7,800)
Seungsu Han ($7,700)

This lineup is normally where I try to look for stability with upside. This week at the Houston Open, however, the mid-tier has a lot of variability. That’s why you’re looking to gamble here with the highest upside. Yes, Stricker is a safe play, but the rest of these guys could either win you a tournament or sink you. Buyer beware.

My Ideal DraftKings lineup

Phil Mickelson ($10,200)
Rafa Cabrera-Bello ($9,300)
Emiliano Grillo ($8,500)
Seungsu Han ($7,700)
Jamie Lovemark ($7,300)
Abraham Ancer ($6,800)

This is a combination of guys who have been playing consistently and a wildcard with Lovemark. They all have fantastic upside, though, and could be in winning contention. I like this lineup to show up well for the Houston Open.
